Text from Theodore Turley: Divine Gift

By Reuben T. Judd

The following year, on September 4, 1822, Frances gave birth to their first child, a son named Theodore, after his father. Two years later, on New Year’s Day in 1825, they welcomed a daughter, Frances Amelia, named after her mother.

Theodore opened his own metalworking shop in Birmingham, but after a few years, he and Frances decided to seek new opportunities. They moved briefly to London before embarking on a grand adventure to Canada.

The Turley family sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and settled in York (now Toronto, Ontario), Canada.
