2020 TTFO Temple and Family History Day
EVENT CANCELED: Due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our April 2020 presentation with Steve Rockwood. Steve has graciously agreed to speak to us at a later date.
2019 TTFO Temple and Family History Day
Our fourth annual TTFO Temple and Family History Day was held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Family History Library in downtown Salt Lake City. We had two featured speakers for our presentation this year: Richard E. Turley, Jr., and David R. Turley II. David offered a combination travelogue and summarized history lesson from last October’s TTFO field trip to San Bernardino, California. Rick’s remarks were titled, “And You Thought Family History Was Boring.”

Biographical Info
Richard E. Turley, Jr., is the current managing director of the Public Affairs Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rick has been researching the life of Theodore Turley ever since his undergraduate days and has been working on a biography of Theodore for decades. He is currently putting together a collection of facsimiles, transcriptions, and descriptions of documents related to the life of Theodore called the Theodore Turley Papers. David R. Turley II is Rick’s nephew and research assistant. He is also a co-editor on the Theodore Turley Papers project with Rick and Ann Laemmlen Lewis. David has been an invaluable asset to our organization, giving historical presentations on our field trips to both Beaver, Utah, and San Bernardino, California. David recently helmed the project to raise money for the headstone of Ann Smith Tolton, grandmother of Clara Ann Tolton Turley (Isaac Turley’s second wife). That headstone will be placed later this year.
Rick and David are both descendants of Theodore Turley through Theodore’s son, Isaac.
