Emma G. Littig, wife of Peter N. Littig, passed away this morning at 6:30 o’clock at her late home, 513 East Fifteenth street, after an illness of a month’s duration although not confined to her bed but three weeks. Her suffering was great but she bore all with patience, feeling assured till the last that she would gain her health in time. She was a woman who lived for her children and was ever ready to soothe them in grief or sorrow, and happy when they were pleased. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and five children, also many other relatives and a host of warm friends. To know her was to love her. The children are Mrs. Fred Bartemeyer, John A., Louis A., Henry Cliften, Julia H., all of this city. They were all at her bedside when she passed into the deep sleep that knows no waking. Mrs. Littig was of English descent, born in Illinois in 1847 and was married to Peter M. Littig in this city in 1869. The funeral services will be held at Grace cathedral Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock, interment at Pine Hill.
